Tips for obtaining more XBox Achievements

Do you play XBox? Well, I do. I am not big on achievements. I see them as optional. Everyone I play with doesn't share my views on this.

I have friends that get every single achievement. This can causes issues with our playing time, but it is nice hearing about the horror story with obtaining some achievements. There are many times I am asking myself this question about my friends, "You playing Lego Indiana Jones?" It's not that LIJ is not fun, but we could be playing Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2.

This approach actually make the process of achievement capturing more enjoyable. You can obtain more achievement faster this way. Achievement capturing is like swimming. Always use the buddy system.:)

Some achievement require friend. I remember when I started playing Fable 2, I read through the achievement list and saw I needed to send a friend a gift. I thought to myself that's easy. Let me knock this one out ASAP.

No, this is not cheating. The purpose of the internet is to share information; use it. I personally found xbox360achievements.org very useful. You can get a detailed walk-through on most achievements. This site can save you a lot of pain with achievement. Also, you can check out gamefaqs. There will either be walk-throughs available or you can use the forum to get tips and help.

You would be amazed at the amount of video of games are out there. People take the time to film how to get achievements.  This can be a great source of help when you are stuck. You should be able to find what you are looking for within two minutes of searching.

 I personally don't do this, but this is a viable option.  For example, Left For Dead 2 has achievements there are really hard to accomplish for the average gamer (even with the help of friends).  The one where you have to clear the all levels on expert.

An easy way to get that achievement is this.  Have a friend go through the level on easy until the end of the level.  You friend then changes the difficultly level to expert.  You can hop on his game clear the level and you are one step closer to getting this one.

Remember your gamer points are not the same as Microsoft points.  You cannot buy anything with gamer points.  I knew this, but my wife almost burned me with this.  She was browsing the XBox Live Arcade section and saw something she liked.  I think I had 2000 Microsoft pointsand 6000 gamer points.  She asked me if she could download something.  I forget what it was, but I looked and saw it cost Microsoft points.  I said, "that costs money..."  Before I could finish she replied, "But you have 6000 points, and this costs 500 points."  I replied with, "I can use those points to buy anything."  She countered with, "Well that's stupid."
